Flying High

Hello All-updating you as I fly above Greenland en route to Han.šŸ’ž

Feeling like I’m on a private plane!

On Wednesday, I completed my 17 treatments of radiation which went really smoothly. The nursing staff who worked with me made all the difference with their warm and caring energy.

I’m so grateful to be finished with my treatment and flying back to Holland. Celebrating fresh starts this week, all around.

I’m also so grateful that Mom is the one encouraging me, more than anyone, to fly...just like the loving Mama bird she is. As a mom, I have insight into what this takes...and it also gives me fresh insight into the mixed feelings it brings up to be the “baby bird”. I know for sure, this will inform my own mothering in profound ways.

And what a gift it is: not only is my mom encouraging me to fly but so are my kids!  Truly. This makes my heart swell...with pride and gratitude so huge that it’s hard to articulate.

I came across this writing recently and want to share it here:

“A practice of gratitude is not about dismissing sadness, anger, fear, or confusion. Rather, it offers us the opportunity to see that we often experience multiple feelings at once; to welcome joy into the same places where we hold grief; to turn our attention to what is quietly growing and breathing day by day, which, to our possible surprise, includes ourselves.”-Kristin Lin

I love that and am seeing it with so much clarity today.

Love to you all. Thanks so much for your continued support. See you on the other side of the world!šŸŒ
